Work Vessels for Veterans is honored to have been one of four charities chosen by KLT Industries, an Ayer, Massachusetts recycler of cardboard materials. KLT has initiated a trend setting recycling program with their commercial customers identifying a percentage of profit going to specifically selected charities on a quarterly basis.
Those charities benefiting from this unique customer based program are: The ASPCA, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Work Vessels for Veterans. We are very grateful and humbled to have been chosen to participate among these world class charities.
At a meeting on Friday 4/29/11 John Niekrash, founder and CEO of WVFV presented John McKenna of KLT Industries with the prestigious Patriot Star in recognition of their unwavering support of our men and women in the United States Military. They stand tall in the business community and are only the fourth recipient of the Patriot Star since its inception.
In addition to continuing financial support of WVFV, KLT Industries will again support Groton, CT based Grossman’s Seafood’s third annual “Operation Lobster Dinner”, preparing and serving 500 lobster dinners and other fare for sailors and their families as well as to other service members and retirees. This event will be held at The United States Submarine Base in Groton, CT on July 17 and will benefit WVFV.
KLT Industries generous contributions to WVFV allow events honoring our service men, women, and retirees to take place on a regular basis.
