KLT Industries, Inc. was presented today with the Patriot Star from John Niekrash, Founder and CEO of the local charity Work Vessels for Veterans (WVFV). KLT is the receiver of this coveted award, which has only been given to three companies in the last three years as a result of their commitment to helping raise funds for this commendable charity.
KLT will be helping to raise money for Work Vessels for Veterans through their charity program, Green Angels. The mission of the Green Angels program is to raise funds for designated charities by assisting commercial businesses with their recycling needs. In a collaborated effort between KLT and their recycling customers, thousands of dollars will be donated each year to the ASPCA, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Work Vessels for Veterans.
In addition to Green Angels, KLT donated to Work Vessels for Veteran’s 3rd Annual Operation Lobster Dinner, which will be held on Sunday July 17th at the Sub Base in Groton, CT. Operation Lobster Dinner was created to express gratitude to our military neighbors and their families. WVFV plans to provide 400 lobster dinners to veterans and their families while local bands provide the live music and children enjoy rides and other exciting activities. In addition to a delightful lobster dinner, WVFV will also present a vehicle to a worthy returning veteran, as they do every year. Furthermore, they will be giving out laptop computers, which were donated from various businesses to help our veterans.
“We are excited to be a part of this wonderful and praiseworthy charity,” said Kyle Trayner, Founder of KLT Industries, Inc. “We hope to contribute a lot of money and aid them through our continued efforts in our Green Angels program.”
